Description: HIV specialist clinician sought to join busy outpatient HIV specialty clinic in Phoenix Arizona. Founded in 1989, the McDowell Healthcare Center, is the largest provider of HIV-related healthcare services in all of Arizona, serving over 3000 active patients, divided among Ryan White, Medicaid-Medicare and private insurance payer sources. Supported by strong grant funding, the clinic features a proactive quality program, specialized women’s health care and comprehensive, full-spectrum HIV care. Current areas of interest include HIV and Hepatitis C clinical trials, anal dysplasia screening and treatment, and transgender care. The clinic and staff are active in community outreach and prevention activities. Its four full-time providers, Ann Khalsa, M.D., John Post, M.D., Carol Williams, F.N.P. and Brian Arey, A.N.P. are all AAHIVM certified, and have each been providing HIV care for over 25 years. Each provider team is supported by a dedicated RN, MA and case manager. Other on-sight services include comprehensive laboratory testing; behavioral health services with full-time counseling and psychiatry, full service dental care, a co-located HIV-specialty pharmacy, and the Phoenix area’s AIDS Service Organization the Southwest Center for HIV and AIDS.
The McDowell Healthcare Center is part of the Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS), which is a county-wide network of outpatient Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers (FQHCs) as well as Maricopa Medical Center (MMC). The residency programs at MMC are affiliated with the University of Arizona College of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, with which many providers hold active academic appointments. The professional staff services are provided by District Medical Group Inc. (DMG) which is the largest multi-specialty group in Metropolitan Phoenix. Experience: • A minimum of 3 years HIV clinical experience, bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred • Practicing Physician in ID, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with HIV patients, preferred Certificates, Licenses and Registration: • Must have California Medical License • DEA without restrictions • Specialty Board Certification preferred • AAHIVM Certification preferred
