ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

LICENSURE:  Maintain a current, valid MD, DO, PA, or NP state license (International providers eligible – please click here for more information). 

EXPERIENCE:  Provide direct, ongoing care to at least 20 HIV patients over the 24 months preceding the date of application.   Note: Providers with fewer than 20 regular HIV patients may still apply by selecting “1-19” as their patient count on the application.  Once approved, the “lower-volume” applicant is then paired with a local, experienced Academy-credentialed Member as part of the Academy's Clinical Consult Program.

EDUCATION:  Complete a minimum of 30 credits of HIV-related Category 1 CME/CEU/CE within the 24 months preceding the date of application.  CME/CEU/CE is reported as a summary on the Credentialing application; actual course completion documents are required only if the application is audited.   SUBSTITUTIONS ACCEPTABLE:  Certain training programs, HIV-specific fellowships, lecturing, and many other types of educational activity are acceptable as a substitute for actual accredited CME/CEU/CE, but explanation is required on the Credentialing application.  Concise education activity summary records help facilitate the application process and may be submitted separately by mail or fax for convenience; details are provided within the online Credentialing application.   For information on resources to earn HIV-related CME/CEU/CE, please click here.
