21% of Illinois residents are enrolled in Medicaid and 57% have managed care. The state's Medicaid can cover up to 200% of FPL depending on the specific program. The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services runs the state's Medicaid program.
The expansion would be a 26% increase over current enrollment.
The state has submitted a formal letter saying they planned to implement the ACA reforms and supported the federal government in this process.
